TRAGEDY Yousef Makki and his father Ghaleb, who was enraged by jury’s verdict THE devastated father of a schoolboy who was stabbed to death in the street erupted in fury when a teenager was cleared of murdering his son.

As the verdict was read out in court, Ghaleb Makki, father of 17-year-old victim Yousef Makki, shouted: “F*** you. Where’s the justice for my son? Where’s the justice?”

The 17-year-old defendant, known as Boy A due to his age, closed his eyes as he was cleared of murder and manslaughter, at Manchester crown court.

A second 17-year-old, Boy B, was cleared of perverting the course of justice by lying to police about what he had seen.

Yousef, from Burnage, South Manchester, was stabbed in the heart in the upmarket village of Hale Barns, Cheshire, in March.

Prosecutors had alleged that on the day of the stabbing Yousef and two friends had arranged to buy cannabis and then rob the dealer. When it went wrong, Yousef and Boy B fled, leaving Boy A to take a beating.

Boy A later stabbed Yousef, who had called him a “p*ssy”, the jury heard.

But both Boy A and Boy B were cleared of conspiracy to commit robbery. Boy A admitted perverting the course of justice by lying to police, and both admitted possession of a flick knife. They will be sentenced for those offences on July 24. The jury heard the stabbing was an “accident waiting to happen” as all three indulged in “idiotic fantasies”, playing “middle-class gangsters”, listening to rap music, calling each other “Bro” and smoking cannabis.

After the verdict, Boy A’s family said: “There are no winners in this case. Yousef ’s death was a tragedy. Our son will live with the responsibility for his role for the rest of his life.”
