Gran’s £59k nursery theft

THE manager of a kids nursery stole £58,600 from her bosses to pay for her son’s wedding.

Gran Hazel Leece, 59, who pocketed the cash over five years, wept as she was jailed for 34 weeks after admitting theft.

Her lawyer told Bolton crown court she had a “financial crisis” and was living in a caravan.

Anne Grundy, 79, who owns Casson Fold nursery in Westhoughton, Bolton, said: “She’s a definite thief in my eyes.”
