The letters A to Z have each been allocated a different number between 1 and 26. The number next to each word in this list is the sum total of the letter values in that word. So, for example, in JOG, J might equal 7, O 13 and G 4, or J might be 16, O 2 and G 6, or any other combination adding up to 24.
