But my take on it is that they’ve earned the right to do that by being 10 points clear at the top of Betfred Super League.

As a club you want your strongest side in your most important games, and while Saints would like to win in London, it’s not as essential as beating Halifax the week after.

I think they’ve learned from last year when they put their best team out too often and a lot of their key players looked jaded at the end of the season.

They’re looking towards the bigger picture this time and making sure they’re at their strongest in the matches that matter most.
