Risk this huge bit of Value

-

MARKET RASEN’S Summer Plate (3.20) can dish up a winner for you at tasty odds.

The 2m 5f jumps race is quite well established, but there are only two major trends, namely:

■ Aged seven or older. ■ Carrying no more than 10st 13lb.

They usually go flat out all the way and, with former Grand Annual Chase winner Solar Impulse in the field, today will be no exception.

Usual practice is to back a horse who likes to be handy, but today’s race could turn into a rough contest and the winner could avoid trouble by coming from the back.

Several of those that remain are plenty skinny enough in the market but one of Dan Skelton’s (above) runners, VALUE AT RISK (2pts ew at 25-1 generally) looks worth backing at very attractive odds.

He’s well weighted at best and is proven on the track, having won a 2m3f handicap chase there in January.
