Audrey is 108... thanks to Ovaltine

A FORMER nurse has celebrated her 108th birthday and revealed that her long life is down to an evening mug of hot Ovaltine.

Audrey Grogan marked her special day on Wednesday, at a party with residents and staff at Blackbrook House Care Home in Dedham, Essex.

When asked the secret to her long life, she said: “Try drinking Ovaltine. Me and my husband used to have a drink every night. ”

The pensioner was born in Gravesend, Kent, in 1911. Both her parents died and she moved into an orphanage to be cared for.

She moved to London and began a career as a nurse, where she met husband John while treating him for pneumonia.
