Wilder is back in for Ben

CHRIS WILDER is poised for another attempt to make Ben Osborn his sixth summer signing at Premier League new boys Sheffield United.

The Blades boss will this week test Nottingham Forest’s resolve to hang on to midfielder Osborn by tabling an offer of £5million, having had a £3m bid rejected.

City Ground manager Sabri Lamouchi is keen to keep the 24-year-old as he plots a promotion push for the coming season.

“Ben is very positive and professional and could be a good help for the team,” said Lamouchi.

“He’s still part of the squad, and I don’t see why anyone would want to lose a player like him.”

But Lamouchi is also aware Osborn is in the final year of his contract, and Forest may want to cash in now rather than lose him for nothing next summer.

Osborn came off the bench in Friday’s friendly win over Crystal Palace and at the end of the game seemed to be saying farewell to the crowd.

Wilder paid a club record £9.5m to lure Lys Mousset from Bournemouth, and has recruited QPR midfielder Luke Freeman, Preston striker Callum Robinson, Phil Jagielka and Ravel Morrison. ASTON VILLA are set to wrap up an £8million deal to sign Egypt winger Mahmoud Trezeguet.

The 24-year-old’s move from Turkish outfit Kasimpasa has been agreed and final terms are all but complete.

Villa boss Dean Smith flew out to Egypt to personally run the rule over Trezeguet and set the wheels in motion.

Trezeguet will be Villa’s ninth signing in a hectic summer of spending, with Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz set to follow for £15m in the next few days.
