Shapps on spot over rail chaos

A UNION chief has urged Transport Secretary Grant Shapps to say how he will avert chaos on rail links to Europe in a no-deal Brexit.

Manuel Cortes of the Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association asked “what level and manner of disruption” is expected on Eurotunnel services in the event of no deal.

In a letter seen by the Mirror, he also demanded assurances that EU nationals working on Eurostar can return to UK homes as shifts end on November 1, amid fears they could be stranded in Calais.
