Baby steps for new site

-

Dear Biz

I’ve set up a comparison site, neenoo.co.uk, to help expectant and new parents to save money on all the essential gear they have to buy for a new baby.

I was a babycare buyer for a big retailer and I wanted to use my expertise to help parents to reduce the cost of this very expensive time in their lives.

Our aim is to help save mums and dads time and money with information and reviews on products from parents.

We compare prices across online and the high street on everyday items from nappies to baby wipes and baby toiletries to bigger buys including prams, buggies, baby monitors, warmers and sterilisers.

We are generating traffic to our site via social media. What advice do you have on the best techniques to convert traffic into sales?

You need to ensure that you deliver on what you promised on your social media posts and don’t just use them as clickbait to get people to visit your site.

Your website needs to be easy to

use, clearly set out and reliable. You need to offer parents a haven among all the mixed messages they are being bombarded with from all angles. A simple and hassle-free way to find the best deals and only compare products from reputable suppliers.

You must also ensure that you really are offering the lowest prices available. People have short attention spans and if they don’t like their first experience of your site, they will turn off quickly and you will struggle to get them back.

Satisfied users will spread the word among family and friends and that is the most cost-effective form of advertising for a new business.
