ROSS: WALES PRESSURE IS OK
ROSS MORIARTY says he won’t crack under the pressure of leading Wales’ World Cup charge.
The abrasive 25-year-old, who has 33 caps, is the first-choice No.8 in Warren Gatland’s squad after injury ruled Taulupe Faletau out of the tournament in Japan.
A similar scenario for Moriarty (right) would represent a disaster for Wales, with Josh Navidi the only other option. “I wouldn’t say it puts pressure on me,” said Moriarty. “It’s sad for Taulupe because he had a long lay-off with injury and then hurt himself in training. It’s sad for any player to go through that.
“But it’s another opportunity to really take hold of the No.8 shirt.”
Wales are spending this week doing hot-weather training at the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey after their 13-6 victory over England.
