ANT and Dec have revealed they have been chasing Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan for this year’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
They said they were willing to meet his demands over the fee – but he still comes up with excuses to stay out of the jungle.
Former This Morning presenter Richard Madeley, 63, radio DJ Tim Westwood, 61, and England football hero Alan Shearer, 49, are also on the hosts’ wishlist this year.
Piers’ co-presenter on GMB Susanna Reid spoke to Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly by video link at the Royal Television Society conference in Cambridge.
I’m A Celebrity is expected to return to ITV in November and she asked who they wanted to send into the camp.
Dec, 43, said: “There is a guy who sits in this seat next to you who has said he would do it for a certain amount.

“Piers has said he would do it for a certain amount of money, which I think we could meet, but he keeps on wriggling out of it. “We have a list we get every year and we add to it and subtract from it. On our list at the moment, one person we are tracking down is Richard Madeley.” Ant, also 43, added: “Tim Westwood. I would like to see that. “Alan Shearer, the list is endless.” Ant and Dec also confirmed filming for Saturday Night Takeaway had begun in earnest on Tuesday. Dec said: “We are going ahead with it next February and we have been working on it during the summer. “We did our first filming day yesterday, so we are very much part of the process all the way through from conception through to delivering on air.
“It’s the platform we get the most involved in.” Ant added: “We try to challenge ourselves to keep pushing the boundaries.” Piers, 54, said in 2017 that he would not go on I’m A Celebrity. He said: “‘My parents have only ever had one conversation with me about something that would cross a line, and think of the things I’ve put them through.
“They were like, ‘Your father and I discussed this, and if you were ever to go into I’m A Celebrity and eat all of those kangaroo things, we’d have to disown you’.”
