A VILLAGE school is finally online after 15 miles of broadband cable were laid to reach classrooms.

Headteacher Amanda Lawrence said: “The pupils are delighted they can now connect the school iPads to the internet.”

Llanychllwydog, which has just 22 pupils, was in a poor connection spot in Cwm Gwaun, deep in a valley in Pembrokeshire National Park, West Wales.

Openreach’s Matt Lovegrove said the project had been “a massive challenge”. A CHRISTMAS-mad mum with a gift for finding bargains has bought all of her kids’ presents already.

Stacey Rosewarne, 38, buys dozens of gifts for her children, 13-year-old Amber, Jacob, seven, and six-year-old Ebony, every year after starting her shopping in the Boxing Day sales. This time she has spent £700.

Stacey said: “I’m obsessed with Christmas and talk about it all the time.

“As soon as my birthday in June is over I’m all about Christmas – if I could put my tree up now I would.”

The support worker, from Taunton, Somerset, who uses a festive savings scheme, said: “I spoil my children.”

But she says she is following the “tradition” of her own Christmas-loving mum.

Stacey has also stockpiled gifts for her partner, Darren, 40, his two children, as well as her sister, nieces and nephews.

The presents are stashed in her spare room, but Stacey can run out of space. She said: “One time I drove around with a big sloth teddy in the boot for weeks.”

She added: “It’s harder because children want expensive things – I wouldn’t be able to do it if I didn’t budget.”
