JAILED David Pomphret AN IT worker who bludgeoned his wife to death has been jailed for life after a judge branded him “an accomplished liar”.
Bespectacled “quiet man” David Pomphret, 51, battered wife Ann Marie, 49, over the head 30 times with a crowbar at stables in Winwick, Cheshire.
Pomphret claimed he found his wife of 22 years dead but traces of blood on his socks placed him at the crime scene, Liverpool crown court heard.
