RAMSEY ON TARGET TO PUT JUVE IN THE LAST 16

-

AARON RAMSEY became the first British player to score in the Champions League for JUVENTUS, who won 2-1 in Moscow.

Former Arsenal star Ramsey (above) broke the deadlock after only four minutes, getting the final touch on Cristiano Ronaldo’s free-kick.

Four minutes later LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW were level as Aleksei Miranchuk scored from the rebound after his own header hit the post.

But Juventus made sure of their place in the last 16 with a brilliant winner.

Douglas Costa played a one-two with Gonzalo Higuain, raced into the area and poked the ball past Guilherme.

Also in Group D, ATLETICO MADRID remain in second place after being beaten 2-1 at BAYER LEVERKUSEN, thanks to a 41st minute own goal by Partey Thomas and a Kevin Volland strike.

Bayer had Nadiem Amiri sent off in the 83rd minute before Alvaro Morata pulled a goal back for Atletico in stoppage time.

REAL MADRID won only their second Champions League match of the season as they thrashed GALATASARAY 6-0 – but they are still set to finish second in Group A.

Brazilian Rodrygo scored twice in the opening seven minutes, with a Sergio Ramos penalty and a fourth from Karim Benzema.

Benzema added a fifth nine minutes from time and Rodrygo completed a late hat-trick. But they are still five points behind PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN, who beat BRUGES 1-0 thanks to Mauro Icardi’s 21st minute effort.

In Manchester City’s Group C, DINAMO ZAGREB drew 3-3 with SHAKHTAR DONETSK in a thriller.

Shakhtar raced into a 3-1 lead before Junior Moraes scored and Mateus Tete equalised late on.
