Tesco blooms plastic-free

-

TESCO is ditching plastic wrapping from its flowers to trial paper packaging.

The move is part of a pledge to ditch a billion pieces of plastic packaging in the next year.

If the trial at a Tesco Extra near Cambridge is successful, the scheme will be extended to all Tesco stores, cutting some 800 tons of plastic a year.

Sarah Bradbury, Tesco’s director of quality, said, “Trials like this will help us learn where we can go further and remove even more plastic.”
