Simple Minds fans stalked by brother of band’s singer
THE brother of Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr has been found guilty of stalking two fans of the band.
Paul Kerr, 56, threatened to kill John Fagan and drag his wife
Julie by her hair to a police station, his trial heard.
The 11-month campaign of abuse began when Mr Fagan replied to a post on
Paul Kerr’s Facebook page, ABUSIVE Paul Kerr where Kerr described the Scottish band’s new album as “pure sh**”. Kerr of Brighton, East Sussex, then accused Mr Fagan of raping a nine-yearold boy and posted abusive comments about the couple.
At Lewes crown court yesterday Kerr was convicted of three counts of pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to stalking.
He will be sentenced on January 6. After the verdict, Julie Fagan said: “It’s the end of a nightmare.”
