Bruce Springsteen is reluctant to let his songs be used in TV shows, but he gave permission for Netflix to feature Dancing in the Dark in new series The Stranger, once he was satisfied with the context – two kids in the scene branding it “sh**”.

Author Harlan Coben told Bruce that two children would be riding in a car with their dad when the track gets played. Harlan cheerfully informed Bruce: “The kids hate your music.”

“That’s what appealed to him,” Harlan says. “That’s what struck a chord with him. If the kids had liked his music he would never have let us have it.” The series starts on Friday.

He’s a man of many names, but P Diddy /Puff Daddy/ Sean Combs opted for his newest moniker,

Love, on his 50th birthday cake.
