LadBaby’s on a roll with No1 tune at Xmas

- BY LUCY MAPSTONE

CHART-TOPPER LadBaby

YOUTUBE star LadBaby has said his second coming in the festive No1 slot is a “Christmas miracle”.

The “dad blogger”, real name Mark Hoyle, 32, fended off Stormzy, Lewis Capaldi and Dua Lipa with his charity single I Love Sausage Rolls.

The song, a twist on Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, follows his 2018 Christmas chart-topper We Built This City – another ode to sausage rolls based on Starship’s classic hit.

LadBaby, of Hemel Hempstead, Herts, said: “It’s the best feeling in the world, it’s a Christmas miracle yet again!”

He is the first artist to score consecutive festive No1s since the Spice Girls with 2 Become 1, Too Much and Goodbye from 1996 to 1998.

M23 in Sussex, top, & Surrey rail line

TRAVELLERS endured a nightmare before Christmas as heavy rain caused widespread flooding.

Worst hit was the South East with the M23 closed between junctions 10 and 11 in West Sussex after a river burst its banks.

A number of roads in Devon, Cornwall, Norfolk and Suffolk, were also impassable.

Rail lines were hit, too, with a landslip blocking tracks between Guildford and Godalming, Surrey.

A red flood warning was in force for Reybridge, next to historic Lacock, Wilts, as the River Avon continued to rise. More rain is forecast across the South until noon tomorrow but the North, still clearing up from last month’s catastrophic deluge, escaped the worst of the weather this time.

Yesterday’s downpours, coupled with miles of roadworks, made it heavy going for 18 million holiday travellers who set out early. Another 13 million are expected to hit the roads this weekend.

The RAC highlighted 2,000 sets of roadworks although Highways England promised 800 miles of them would be lifted in time to ease the pain with 98% of motorways and major A-roads clear.
