A SCHOOLGIRL wrote to a drink-driver who “nearly killed her mummy” in an 80mph smash, begging him to never get behind the wheel after boozing.

Isabelle Elce, eight, penned the letter after Tomasz Niedziela smashed into mum Amelia’s car on the wrong side of the road while almost twice the alcohol limit.

College tutor Amelia, 29, suffered severe head injuries and is still traumatised by the collision, which happened in September.

And Isabelle is determined to stop others being hurt in the same way. The note reads:

“On that night when you drank alcohol and went in your car you nearly killed my mummy!

“She had to go in an ambulance with blood pouring out of her head, and I nearly didn’t have a mummy anymore.

“So please don’t ever do that Thank you. From Isabelle.”

Amelia, who has a second girl, Chloe, six, said she was “so proud” of Isabelle.

“She’d obviously heard us talking about what happened and quietly took herself off to her bedroom to write it,” Amelia said.

“She asked if we could send it to the again. driver but we told her, if one person saw her letter on Facebook it might make them think twice about drinking and driving.

“I hope Niedziela realises the impact his actions had on me and my family.”

Recalling the crash, Amelia, from Mansfield, Notts, added: “I remember screaming and thinking I’m not coming out of this.”

Niedziela, 35, admitted driving with excess alcohol and was given a 20-month driving ban and fined £590.
