A TEENAGER who had a seizure while chatting to an online gaming pal was saved when she rang the emergency services from Texas.

Aidan Jackson, 17, was using a headset to talk to gaming partner Dia Lathora 5,000 miles away when he fell ill.

Dia, 20, realised what was happening and searched online for an emergency services number for Aidan’s town.

Aidan’s mum and dad Caroline and Steve were watching TV downstairs when police cars and an ambulance appeared in the road outside their house in Widnes, Cheshire.

Dia said: “I heard what I could only describe as a seizure,

TRAIN customers make big savings on journeys using a new “split tickets” app.

Trainline’s SplitSave app finds combinations of tickets to save cash on almost two-thirds of rail routes. Travellers could save £80 between Edinburgh or Manchester and London, the firm said.

Trainline added: “It’s another big step in our goal of getting more people to pick train travel over cars and flights.” so obviously I started to get worried.” When Aidan did not respond to her, she tried different numbers seeking help. She added: “I told [them] I was trying to get help for my friend who had just had a seizure in England.”

Dia stayed on the line until she heard Aidan’s mum and the medical team arrive – 40 minutes after his fit. Mum-of-four Caroline, 48, said: “I’m sure it’s not every day that Cheshire emergency services get a phone call all the way from America.

“We always say to the kids be careful who you speak to online but, in this case, it was invaluable. “We can’t thank Dia enough.” Aidan has had tests and waiting for a diagnosis. is

PART of the heavily delayed Crossrail project may open earlier than thought.

Mike Brown, Transport for London Commissioner, had said a central section would open in autumn 2021.

But TfL now says that the Paddingtonto-Abbey Wood section is on course to open in summer 2021 instead.

The entire project was originally slated for completion in December 2018.
