Ibra’s the man for all seasons

- I’M BACK BY IAN WINROW

AC MILAN boss Stefano Pioli insists there is more to come from Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swede scored his first goal since rejoining the club.

The 38-year-old’s strike in the 2-0 win at CAGLIARI means he has scored in four different decades, having started his career with Malmo in 1999.

Ibrahimovic – who spent two seasons at Milan between 2010-12, scoring 42 goals in 61 games – has signed a six-month deal with the Serie A side after returning from a stint in MLS with LA Galaxy

Pioli said: “I was worried because I didn’t know how his fitness would be. In the second half I questioned him every five minutes to see how he was feeling.

“He was a bit tense and worried at the start because it is not easy to make the step back up again. He’s not 100 per cent match-fit but he showed how good he is.”

JUVENTUS are back on top of Serie A after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a penalty in last night’s 2-1 win at ROMA.

BARCELONA striker Luis Suarez will be out for four months after undergoing surgery on his knee yesterday. The former Liverpool star (right) went under the knife two days after playing in Barca’s 3-2 Spanish Super Cup semi-final defeat by ATLETICO MADRID in Saudi Arabia.

Atletico lost yesterday’s final 4-1 on penalties to rivals REAL MADRID after the match finished 0-0 after extra-time. Real came through despite having Federico Valverde sent off. Only Kieran Trippier scored from the spot for Atletico.

MALAGA sacked boss Victor Sanchez four days after he was suspended following the emergence online of an explicit video.

A club statement said: “Malaga took this decision in consideration of the serious harm the recent non-sporting events have done to the club.”
