LEAH WILLIAMSON says ARSENAL are ready to tighten their grip at the top of the WSL when they face Chelsea and Manchester City in a crucial period of the campaign.

The Gunners moved three points clear of second-placed City with a 4-0 win at BRIGHTON.

Danielle van de Donk fired the champions ahead and Jill Roord doubled the lead before the break.

Jordan Nobbs (above) and Beth Mead were on target in the second half to complete the rout.

Joe Montemurro’s side face third-placed Chelsea next week with a trip to City two weeks later.

Defender Williamson said: “The form we’re in and the way things are going and the mood in the squad are all very good, so bring it on.”

CHELSEA moved to within a point of City – who beat EVERTON 3-1 on Saturday – with a 6-1 defeat of BRISTOL CITY.

The Robins went ahead through Ebony Salmon but Chelsea recovered through Beth England, Hannah Blundell, Jess Carter and Ji So-yun to take control before the break.

Ji and England were both on target again in the second half as the Blues marked boss Emma Hayes’ 200th game in charge.

Amalie Eikeland scored the only goal of the game as READING beat BIRMINGHAM to stay fourth.

Rianna Dean scored in the sixth minute of addedtime as TOTTENHAM beat WEST HAM 2-1.

Dean’s winner came after the Hammers appeared to have earned a point when Kenza Dali cancelled Emma Mitchell’s opener late on.

LIVERPOOL’S meeting with MANCHESTER UNITED was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
