Chelsea fury as a pair of goals are ruled out

HARRY MAGUIRE headed Manchester United to within three points of fourth place on another night for the VAR and the furious.

Maguire powered in a header from a Bruno Fernandes corner on a night when the Reds’ new signing impressed. Loan signing Odion Ighalo also made a late appearance after his deadline day signing from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Batshuayi missed two first-half chances before being replaced by Giroud in the second half. Mason Mount also hit the post late on.

Defeat left Chelsea just one point ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham after a shocking run of four games without a win, defeats against Bournemouth and Southampton and their failure to win at Brighton.
