Meg: I’ll quit The Voice to start family
Star’s plans after this series ends
MEGHAN Trainor plans to quit ITV hit The Voice after just one series because she is feeling broody.
The US singer, 26, says she is too busy to start a family with hubby Daryl Sabara right now but wants kids “within the next two years, for sure”.
Meghan, whose hits include All About That Bass, said: “I’ll do more TV, especially when I have babies. I want to do less touring, more go to my show, write songs and then go home with my kids. I’m not pregnant right now, by the way!
“I wish, I would love to be. But I’m too busy. I’ve got it mapped out. I’m on tour with Maroon 5 after this so hopefully I’ll get to write songs and stuff.
“But after that tour I warned my team, ‘I’m going to a doctor and asking them how does this pregnancy stuff happen? Like real fast cause I want to get pregnant now!’ I want kids within the next two years, for sure.” Meghan – who wed actor Daryl, 27, in 2018 – also says she has found being based here for a while “refreshing”. She said: “I get to be in London weeks at a time, every month, which has been amazing. I noticed everyone here hates the weather. They’re like, ‘This is brutal’. I’m like, ‘This is nice. It’s refreshing’. I get to bundle up and I’m not dripping sweat underneath.
“I do miss the LA food, though. Everyone’s telling me the food here is amazing. But tell me where, because I can’t find it.”
■ The Voice continues on ITV on Saturday night at 8.30pm with the opening knockout round.
