A MODEL who fled the UK after being convicted of dealing steroids and taunted police with exotic social media posts while on the run in the Far East has been arrested.

Terrence Murrell, 31, was jailed for 37 months in October 2018 for his role in a gang plot to import the illegal drugs from China.

But he fled before sentencing and mocked authorities by posting snaps of himself enjoying drinks and lounging in swimming pools.

The tattooed model also became known as “Mr Potato Chest” after an online translation mangled the Welsh words of a police appeal to describe him as having “potatoes on his chest”.

Murrell was arrested on the holiday island of Bali in Indonesia last summer in connection with a porn and drugs investigation.

Following court hearings, he was due to be flown to Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, before being returned to the UK.

NORTH WALES POLICE ON REPORTS OF ARREST

BRITS buy almost twice as much ecodamaging “fast fashion” clothing as any other country in Europe.

The UK is consuming an average 59lb of garments per person a year, according to a Finnish study. Even fashion conscious Italians only average 32lb. The Germans are our closest rivals on 37lb.

But it is now believed he is being held in an immigration centre in Cambodia – although it is not known how he came to be there.

North Wales Police said officers are aware that Murrell, who was due to face a judge at Caernarfon crown court last month, has been arrested.

A spokesman said: “We are working with colleagues from both the National Crime Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service to bring him back to the UK to serve his sentence.

“Due to the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, this will happen as soon as it is safe to do so.”

Murrell, from London, was a member of a £2million steroid smuggling gang. When held, he first told police he had bought the drugs for himself as he “wanted to look his best as a male model”.

But he later admitted possessing illegal drugs with intent to supply, plus conspiracy to supply.

University, said: “Consumers must change their habits.” She added we must buy clothing that lasts longer because fast fashion is a “key environmental threat”.

The sector is the second largest industrial polluter after aviation, accounting for 10% of global CO2 emissions annually, says the professor. The global average of clothing consumed a year is 29lb.
