SAS stars given vital toilet roles

-

They skinned rabbits to feed one another, and had to carry each other through the Special Forces-style challenges.

But one communal activity that cemented lifelong friendships between the celebrities on SAS: Who Dares Wins was going to the toilet.

The lineup, which included former boxer

Tony Bellew, reality star Joey Essex, TV presenter Anthea Turner and ex-Strictly star Brendan Cole, were made to “buddy up” with a pal to visit the loo together during their Scottish island expedition.

And though actress Nikki Sanderson was able to request a female toilet buddy, some were plonked together at random.

“You have to bond when you have to go to the toilet,” says presenter Helen Skelton, while Radio 1 Xtra host Yasmin Evans cheerfully announces: “Brendan was my number two partner.”

Hopefully, there were no foxtrots... “As soon as I went to the toilet with Joey, Brendan and Nikki, we were best mates,” she added.

“I couldn’t bring myself to sit on that seat,” grimaces Joey – who admits the experience was more difficult than his stint on I’m A Celebrity. “That was the toughest part – facing that bathroom at 3am.”

Skinning a rabbit to cook to eat also proved difficult, although Tony reckons the experience has prepped him in case conditions during lockdown deteriorate.

“If they closed Asda or Morrisons I can f***ing kill a rabbit and a fox, and I can skin it and eat it,” he boasts.

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins also features model Katie Price, who quit after a few days admitting her body “wasn’t physically ready” following a boob op.

■ Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins begins on Monday, April 20, at 9pm on Channel 4.

We’re all missing sport at the moment, but Sam Smith and Demi Lovato have actually turned themselves into medal-winning athletes for their new single, I’m Ready, out Friday, in lieu of this year’s postponed Olympics.
