THE Stranglers’ keyboard player Dave Greenfield has died, aged 71, after contractin­g Covid-19 following a long stay in hospital with heart problems.

81, said: “We have just lost a dear friend and music genius.”

Greenfield, who leaves wife Pam, wrote the music for Golden Brown, which won an Ivor Novello Award.
