Volunteers offer a Helping Hand

-

HELPING Hands Cheadle Hulme was set up by Lauren Henshaw (right) and Roshini Latham with the aim of sharing advice and matching people in need with volunteers or goods.

“Roshini and I are constantly monitoring requests and manning the volunteer phones,” says Lauren. “We also liaise with people offering services, dropping off goods and applying for council grants. I nip out to drop off donations when my toddler is napping and thankfully, a team of volunteers helps with soup drops.

“We’re also setting up a fundraiser to pay for a storage container for donations, cleaning products and ingredients for more meals. It’s just about keeping busy and making a bad situation better for everyone, isn’t it?”
