KLOPP: MY ENERGY CAN LIGHT CITY

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

JURGEN KLOPP says he feels so recharged during the coronavirus lockdown that his energy could light up a city.

And the Liverpool boss claims his Kop players are “as eager as fiveyear-olds” ahead of a potential Premier League resumption.

The Reds, 25 points clear at the top, have one hand on a first title in 30 years and can’t wait to get back to action, their German manager said.

“We are so recharged – you could use my energy to light up different cities,” Klopp said. “When we give the boys a challenge to do in their gardens they play like five-year-old boys.

“And that is what we’ll transfer on to the pitch.”

Klopp revealed details of training plans the players (including Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, left) have followed during the lockdown.

They include video analysis of past glories, like last season’s Champions League triumph and the World Club Championship win.

And Klopp is determined to add the Premier League title to that list. The Kop manager, speaking to Fox Sports, added: “We have to make sure that we will be physically ready again. Then there is the tactical thing.

“It is the tactical thing we probably work on most at the moment with a lot of videos we send to the boys. We send them videos of what we did well, what we didn’t do well, and what we want to do in the future.”

Training is likely to resume soon at the club’s Melwood camp with individual sessions, followed by team training towards the end of May.

Kop flop keeper Loris Karius claims he has torn up a two-year loan deal at Besiktas and returned to Anfield following a wage dispute.
