Waiting for lifesaver op

ORGAN FAILURE Becky Gough

A WOMAN is still waiting for a second life-saving liver transplant, 13 months after being told she had only a year to live.

Becky Gough, 32, was the youngest liver transplant patient 30 years ago after being diagnosed with liver cancer.

Now she has organ failure and was told last May she would be dead in a year without a new liver.

She lost her hospital healthcare assistant job in November after several months of sick leave.

On New Year’s Eve she had surgery to put in a temporary artery to help keep her alive but she is still waiting for a new organ.

Fiance James, 32, who she lives with in Wakefield, West Yorks, said: “The wait has been difficult.”
