VICTIM Josephine Conlon

A KNIFEMAN repeatedly slashed a terrified mum pushing her baby in a pram just six days after he was released from jail, a court heard yesterday.

Mum of three Josephine Conlon, 36, was on the phone to her mother when she was shoved to the ground and knifed. The attacker then fled. One of the wounds pierced her salivary gland, the Old Bailey heard.

Mark Brazant, 44, who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, admits stabbing her in Streatham, South London, but denies attempted murder.

Brazant, of Ealing, West London, handed himself in to police two days after the attack on December 30 and asked to apologise.

The trial continues.

Couple have brief exchange with protesters

TOTING firearms, two millionaire lawyers run from their palatial mansion to confront Black Lives Matter protesters walking through their gated community.

Mark McCloskey wielded a deadly AR-15 semi-automatic rifle while wife Patricia held a handgun as crowds marched by on their way to the mayor’s house in St Louis, Missouri.

It is not known if the weapons were loaded – and at one point footage shows Patricia stumble with her gun held up while protesters pass by, one of whom was wearing a “Hands up, don’t shoot” T-shirt.

The marchers then continued down the street, chanting “Let’s go, let’s go” at those who wanted to stay outside the McCloskeys’ £3.2million property in the affluent community of Forest Park. The chilling scene came as crowds made their way to demand under-fire Mayor Lyda Krewson’s resignation on Sunday.

Hundreds wanted to vent their anger at her decision to name people who called for police to be “defunded” in the wake of recent brutality cases.

And their route took them past the home from which the McCloskeys run the McCloskey Law Centre – currently representing a police brutality victim.

St Louis University lawyer John Amman said the couple’s actions could potentially be classed as assault, putting protesters in fear of their safety. He said people have a right to threaten force if threatened. But if a group of protesters is walking past a home and not doing anything to the homeowners specifically, they do not have the right to threaten lethal force without an immi
