I must agree with Thelma Barlow, who played Mavis Wilton in Coronation Street for 26 years, when she said the series has lost the plot (Mirror, June 26). You just have to watch the repeats on ITV3 to see the humour that used to be there.

In the last few episodes we have had racism, homophobia, drugs, loansharking, violence, blackmail and prostitution.

Let’s get back to entertaining the viewers with some good honest storylines and humour.
