SW19 queen King misses her court

BILLIE-JEAN KING said she was missing Wimbledon “terribly” on the day the tournament should have started.

The grass-court Grand Slam has been cancelled because of Covid-19.

Six-time singles champion King, 76, tweeted: “I have been to Wimbledon every year for almost six decades. I am missing it terribly yet I know next year will be worth the wait.”

Head groundsman Neil Stubley said: “It is just a really surreal, odd time.”
