Students get cash ‘thanks’ from landlord
A LANDLORD stunned students by giving back their deposits with an extra £50 to thank them for looking after his property.
Landlord John, from Falham Properties, took a £250 deposit each from seven tenants living at his property in Burley, Leeds, but gave them £300 back at the end of their stay.
The University of Leeds students had lived in the house for three years.
Maisie Gardner, 22, a psychology student, tweeted: “A nice student landlord !!! Love you John.”
John, who declined to give his surname, said: “I’m the sort of landlord that looks after his houses and I keep them very well maintained. They have respected that.
“If they carry on as they did, they’ll be fine people.”
