Hensationa­l escape feat

A HEN stowed away on an egg lorry and survived a 90-mile journey wedged under the trailer.

She was spotted in Borehamwoo­d, Herts, around two hours after setting off from Lincolnshi­re.

The food delivery firm could not trace her owner so called the RSPCA which has found her a new home.

The charity said she was “completely unscathed but a little bedraggled”.

HE drives fast and gets angry, but children still think dad is better behind the wheel than mum.

But youngsters say that she is more fun in the car and plays better tunes than he does.

In a poll of 1,000, six to 16-year-old kids with two parent drivers, 43% said dad was “best” at driving, although 29% chose mum. They decided dads were best at three-point turns, parking and hill starts, while 46% said mums were most likely to have prangs and get lost.

But mums were most fun in the car, with 40% of kids saying she played the best music to 31% who preferred dad tunes. Well over half the youngsters (63%) preferred to listen to their own tracks in the car to avoid hearing their parents’ dire playlists.

Mums were most likely to join in car games, such as I Spy, while dads were strictest, with top rules including: no arguing (36%), no rubbish to be left in car (48%) and no shoes on the seats (41%).
