Talent doesn’t desert Usman

KAMARU USMAN retained his welterweight title after defeating Jorge Masvidal by a unanimous decision at UFC 251.

Masvidal (above right), who was a last-minute replacement for Gilbert Burns, had called Usman (above left) “mentally weak” before the clash in the United Arab Emirates.

But the judges found Usman too strong as they scored the fight 50-45 50-45 and 49-46 in his favour.

And County Durham bantamweight Davey Grant survived a broken jaw to claim a knockout win over Martin Day.
