MICH FIRED BY FAILURE

-

MICHAIL ANTONIO revealed that a sleepless night inspired him to join an elite list of greats.

The West Ham man became the 27th player to score four or more in a Premier League game.

Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane are all on that particular roll of honour.

But none of them claimed the matchball after missing a sitter in a 1-0 home loss to Burnley.

Antonio said:

“I couldn’t sleep after the game on Wednesday because I had a great opportunity to get us a point and I didn’t take it.

“I’m my biggest critic, so to come out and get four goals and three points for our club was just amazing. We need to keep pushing forward.”

Hammers boss David Moyes said he had an inkling the 30-year-old would do well against the Canaries.

He said: “He had his best day in training on Friday, he looked sharper and livelier so let’s hope he keeps training as well as that.”

Antonio became the first Hammer to score four in a game since September 1981, when David Cross tormented Tottenham in 4-0 away triumph.
