Drinks boss nabs priciest 7-inch single
SPIN WIN Lee Jeffries
THE boss of a fizzy drinks firm has snapped up the world’s most expensive seven-inch single, thought to be worth over £26,000.
Lee Jeffries, 38, has wanted a 1965 pressing of Northern Soul classic Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) by Frank Wilson for years.
The rare 45 RPM disc, on Motown subsidiary label Soul, fetched £25,742 when it was last sold in 2009.
But Lee, of Market Harborough, Leics, would not reveal what he paid.
The head of Jeffries Vintage Drinks said: “Frank Wilson original now in my collection... [thanks to my] wife-to-be Lisa for letting me spend all that dosh.”
Trader John Manship said the previous owner received “an offer from Lee that couldn’t be refused”.
