Museum has bug problem

THE British Museum has been battling invasive insects which can damage priceless exhibits.

And a lack of visitors in lockdown means settling dust has been creating the perfect environment for them to thrive.

Woodworm, moths and carpet beetles can devour materials used in ceremonial masks, native clothing and totem poles.

The museum, in Bloomsbury, Central London, said a pest manager is now tackling the problem.
