Mental health equality gap may last a generation
London’s Centre for Mental Health has warned the Covid-19 pandemic may create inequalities in mental health that could last for a generation unless action is taken.
There’s a real danger, the UK charity said, because the lockdown is putting greater pressure on groups whose mental health was already poor before the pandemic took hold.
These include women and children experiencing violence and abuse.
The charity’s report is backed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and 12 other mental health charities.
