Yes. Any way of speeding up housebuilding has to be good. Planning departments need to be reformed for the benefit of ordinary people.

AVERAGEMAN2 No. Aside from a dip in building standards and the negative impact on the environment, the suppression of so-called red tape is prone to new ways of corruption to secure contracts.

MAXIMEROCHE Yes. If it’s for urgently needed social housing or for hospitals, it’s a good idea. But if it’s property to be sold off to foriegn investors to rent out for profit, then no.
