Cyclist died in 11mph fall in Argentina
TOURIST Rider Juliet Heap
A CYCLIST wearing a helmet died after falling off her bike and hitting her head while doing just 11mph, an inquest heard.
Juliet Heap, 40, was part of a group travelling through Patagonia in the Argentinian mountains.
She had “slight contact” with another rider and she slid off in Rio Gallegos on November 30 last year.
The team, including its medic, bandaged her head and gave CPR until emergency crews arrived.
Passers-by also tried to help Ms Heap, a Londonbased planning consultant.
Southwark coroner’s court said the cause of death was a road collision.
Coroner Xavier Mooyaart said the medical cause was polytrauma, as per her death certificate from Argentina.
