INLAND Dolphin in river

A COUPLE were shocked to see a dolphin in a local river, 13 miles from the sea.

Richard Priest, 32, and his wife Serena, 41, were strolling by the River Nene in Wisbech, Cambs, when they spotted a fin.

Tesco manager Richard then videoed the mammal gliding along the surface. He said: “I didn’t believe it was a dolphin at first.

“The dolphin must [have been] lost as I have never known a dolphin to be in the river, so I reported it to Sea Watch Foundation.”

The Foundation, which monitors cetaceans in UK waters, confirmed it was a common dolphin.

The species which can measure up to 2.5 metres is usually in deep water.

The dolphin is expected to find its own way back to the North Sea.

ADELE landed in the centre of an online race storm after celebrating the Notting Hill Carnival by posting a photograph of herself wearing a Jamaican flag bikini with her hair in African Bantu knots.

This year’s carnival went digital due to the pandemic, and the singer, who comes from Tottenham, North London, captioned her post: “Happy what would be Notting Hill Carnival my beloved London.”

But the 32-year-old star was accused “cultural appropriation” for the post.

US journalist Ernest Owens kicked things off, tweeting: “If 2020 couldn’t get anymore bizarre, Adele is giving us Bantu knots and cultural appropriation that nobody asked for.

“This officially marks all of the top white women in pop as problematic. Hate to see it.”

Another critic posted: “If you haven’t quite understood cultural appropriation, look at Adele’s last Instagram post. She should go to jail no parole for this.”

In the comments section of the Instagram post, another user wrote: “Bantu knots are NOT to be worn by white people in any context, period.”

A third critic said:

“Adele dropped that weight and said it’s time for her cultural appropriation era.”

But others defended Adele for appreciating, rather than appropriating,

Caribbean culture.

Lammy said: “This humbug totally misses the spirit of

Notting Hill Carnival and the tradition of ‘dress up’ or ‘masquerade’. Adele was born and raised in Tottenham she gets it more than most.

“Thank you Adele. Forget the Haters.” Model Naomi Campbell, 50, whose mother was born in Jamaica, commented with two love heart emojis and two of the Jamaican flag.

Guardians of the Galaxy actress Zoe Saldana, 42, posted: “You look right at home guurrrl.” US comedian Chelsea Handler, 45, commented: “Oh, yeah, baby!” Jamaican musician Popcaan, 32, shared a fist emoji and love heart. And actress Tessa Thompson, 36, who stars in sci-fi TV series Westworld, posted a flame emoji. Adele, who split from husband Simon Konecki last year, recently hailed “Queen” Beyonce on the release of the star’s album, Black Is King. of
