BOURNEMOUTH matchwinner Arnaut Danjuma believes new manager Jason Tindall has already proved he is capable of filling Eddie Howe’s shoes after only one game in charge.

Danjuma’s last- gasp goal earned Tindall a thrilling debut victory in his first match since replacing Cherries legend Howe.

The Holland winger said: “The way the new gaffer wants to play really suits this club and the players we have.

“He wants to play with a more attacking way. In front we have a lot of freedom, a lot of link play.

“There are some changes he made which are really good for the team.

“He proved himself a really good gaffer during the game because when we were drawing, he made a couple of changes and we won the game.”

Bournemouth looked to be heading for a frustrating opening-day draw on their return to the Championship after Blackburn had twice hit back. Jack Stacey (below right, being congratulated by Lloyd Kelly, far left, and Steve Cook) and Jefferson Lerma were on target for the Cherries only for Bradley Johnson and Adam Armstrong to score for the visitors.

Danjuma ensured the Tindall era had a dream start by finding the top corner with a right-foot curler with six minutes left. He had endured an injury- ravaged debut campaign on the South Coast following a £14million move from Bruges last summer.

Danjuma said: “Last season was u n f o r tu n a t e with the injuries. But I’m doing everything I can to bounce back twice as hard this season.

“With the new staff and the gaffer, it really accelerate with want to play.

“I’m happy. I think I show on the pitch that I’ve got the qualities as well. As long as we keep our heads high and we’re confident in the way we play, we can do a really good job in the Championship.”

Despite the defeat, Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray felt there were plenty of positives to take from his side’s performance and has challenged helps me the way I

Armstrong to reach 20 goals this campaign. Mowbray said: “I’ve been moaning at him a little bit about his work ethic. I thought he was OK here, but I know there’s more. “Adam should be looking to get over 20 every season he plays because he doesn’t bat an eyelid left or right foot. He probably doesn’t score enough headers but is a brilliant finisher.”
