Watchdog’s concerns on online toys
SIX in 10 toys bought from online marketplaces are a safety hazard for children, parents are being warned.
The British Toy and Hobby Association is calling for health warnings on unbranded toys with powerful magnets, button batteries and small parts that pose a choking risk.
It studied 100 toys bought via eBay, Amazon and AliExpress and found 86% failed to meet UK safety laws, such as having labels about small parts.
All faulty toys were sold by third party sellers.
A spokesman urged the Government and online giants to “take action”.
All three websites said they take safety seriously.
