Wedding organiser behind huge 80-strong bash faces £10k fine
A MAN accused of organising an 80-strong wedding over the weekend is facing a £10,000 fine.
The 41-year-old has been summonsed to court after police raided a manor house while guests were enjoying a sitdown meal.
However, none of the guests face prosecution.
Essex Police Assistant Chief Constable Andy Prophet said: “This wedding party was a blatant breach of restrictions which allows for 15 people to be present at a wedding.
“A selfish few think they can flout the rules with no thought for the health risk posed by their actions.”
The reception took place at Ariana Gardens in Margaretting, Essex, on Sunday.
The venue has been approached for comment.

A 19-year-old woman and two 20-year-old women were fined after reports of a gathering in Norwich at 1.10am on Sunday.
