Mozzies have ‘sweet tooth’
MOSQUITOES love human blood as it tastes “salty and sweet” like caramel researchers found.
They wanted to identify what it tastes like to them in the hope of creating a drug to make human blood less “delicious” to the disease carriers.
Scientists from Rockefeller University, New York, discovered which mosquito neurons fire when they taste different foods.
Work has now started on a drug to make us taste bitter to prevent bites.
