CHESTER: TRINITY A-WAKE AT LAST
KO 7.45pm WAKEFIELD coach Chris Chester is relishing a second crack at the champions in the space of a week.
Bottom club Trinity’s patched-up side pushed Saints all the way last Friday before falling to a 16-20 defeat, and are boosted by the return of players from Covid procedures.
Chester (right) said: “I wasn’t frustrated about the result, more frustrated that we can’t play like that week-in week-out. It’s been an issue for a number of years and that’s something we’re trying to address now.
“But there were some good signs last week – we attacked well and toughed it out in the middle.
“We were held up over the line two or three times and if we’d finished those tries it could have been a different story. But it was probably the best performance since lockdown.”
