BIG CHARACTER Wolves skipper and England new boy Conor Coady

CONOR COADY has already made his mark with England. Gareth Southgate revealed the Wolves captain was invited to join his leadership group, set up to give Three Lions players a voice. Harry Kane, Jordan Henderson, Harry Maguire and Raheem Sterling are regular members, but with Sterling missing through injury, Coady was invited to step up – a sign of his growing importance to the squad.

“His performance against Denmark and the way he and Tyrone Mings organised the defence from the back really helped to keep us in that game,” said Southgate. “They showed tremendous character and resilience to lead from that position.” Coady is vocal on the pitch and as the PFA rep at Wolves was involved in Project Restart talks.
