TRANSPORT for London has secured a £1.8billion government bailout.

The capital’s transport body, which has been hit hard by the pandemic, said the agreement will allow services to run until the end of March 2021.

TfL said: “Discussions on longer-term sustainable funding continue.”

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “Just as we’ve done for the national rail operators, we’ll make up the fare income TfL is losing due to Covid.”
